What Disciples Believe

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is the largest church with its beginnings on American soil. Early Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) members were known as a "People of the Book". Our deepest roots are in the New Testament. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world and God's own son.

The Lord's Supper was a distinctive way of worship in the New Testament church. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) continues to share the Lord's Supper weekly ("...upon the first day of the week the disciples were gathered together to break bread", Acts 20:7). Recognizing all Christians as brothers and sisters, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) invites all people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior to share the Lord's Supper.
