Women
Women have always been an integral part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We believe in equality at First Christian Church. Both men and women share the duties as Elders and members of the Diaconate when they preside at the Lord's Table for Holy Communion each Sunday. Throughout our denomination women are ordained and serve local congregations as pastors. Approximately half the elected representatives to our official board at First Christian Church in Dexter are women. All church school classes on Sunday mornings are made up of boys and girls... males and females. We know that in some religious circles it would be heresy for women to have this much involvement in Christ's church. If our approach seems spiritually sound to you, you will feel right at home among us at First Christian Church of Dexter.
